What is the best digital camera to take photos in macro, and a large optical zoom for shots of sports?
I'm trying to get the best camera for my money, and to obtain further information from the current owners of the camera as possible. I love taking up close shots macro detail of the flowers, but also need something that will do well with my son's sporting events. I am welcoming all suggestions. Thank you!
From your requirements, I would say a digital SLR camera would be your best option. Whether it's a (entry level) Canon or Nikon are the two brands I would recommend. They have performed much better than any point and shoot camera, and you can select from a wide range of lenses (wide, tele macro, etc.) to meet their needs (and budget). Buying one of these cameras with the aim of the kit is a good way to start. If a digital SLR camera sounds way out of their league, then you can always start shooting in the first car until your knowledge and confidence grows ...
